Spring Cleaning

Just a lot of buffing, polishing, and waxing. *Both sides are actually done now, and it is likely the first time it has been waxed since the 1980s. We just have to get her bottom repainted and the prop shaft back in.  Which we can do now, because we just got a special delivery all the way from Marina Grossenbrode in Germany.  This company still makes/sells many parts for Dehlers.
We took out the settee cushions last weekend in preparation for the messes we are planning on making this spring.  We're going to attempt to fix all the cracks in the headliner and give the galley a total makeover: new galley top, new sink fixture, and a paint job. I'm so excited.  While I'm a little worried about my upcoming summer (and my non-contracted teaching job ending for the school year), I am looking forward to the idea of having lots of time to work on these projects.

Soul-Mateys 02/16/2013

Joel and I were married on Saturday, February 16, exactly 5 years after we had started dating.  We were married on a windy but beautiful day on Dune Allen Beach in the Florida Panhandle.  The day could not have been more perfect, and we know how blessed we are to be able to say that.  Of course, we took everything in our usual easygoing stride, too, which helps.  The locals all thought the 58 degree day was too cold and we had the beach all to ourselves... being as we'd come from 18 degree days and snow, we were plenty warm.  We had a decently-sized beach wedding with about 38 family members and friends.  Our reception was held two blocks away from the ceremony site at beautiful "Gulf Dream House" (search for it on VRBO under that name).
We came back to work only a couple days after our wedding, but are looking forward to our honeymoon in France this summer.  Until that time, we've been coming directly home from work to work on restoring two smaller vessels  (a 19 and a 21 footer) that we need to sell in order to fully have Joel "moved-out" of his parent's house :)  Once these sailboats are finished, we'll be back to working on The Run full-time.  Here are just a few pictures of our special day.
